Integration of SprutCAM and KOMPAS-3D

ASCON and SPRUT Technology have achieved integration between the CAD system KOMPAS-3D and the SprutCAM CAM system.

Both KOMPAS-3D and SprutCAM are both well established products which have proved themselves in their own markets. Integration between these two products gives engineers an easy to use and powerful package.

The new integration with SprutCAM allows KOMPAS-3D users to directly open a model in SprutCAM while still in a KOMPAS-3D session. The user can add a menu shortcut item "Export to SprutCAM" right in the KOMPAS-3D environment. This function will send the current model from KOMPAS-3D directly to SprutCAM. The user, still in a KOMPAS-3D sessions can continue to design the model and then update the model by clicking the "Export to SprutCAM" button and rerun the toolpath for the updated model to generate the new NC code. This associativity provides better machining efficiency, easier CAM organization, and superior toolpath quality.
