SPRUT Technology, Inc. brings CNC milling capabilities to SolidWorks 2006 software

Software allows designers and engineers to seamlessly import their designs directly into SprutCAM for CNC machining

NABEREZHNYE CHELNY June 02, 2005 - SPRUT Technology, Inc. today announced that its SprutCAM system supports SolidWorks® 2006 3D mechanical design software with new capabilities for greater programming efficiency, easier CAM organization, and superior tool path quality, and enables users to design better products faster and more accurately, speeding the 'time to market'.

SolidWorks 2006 features a host of new and unique capabilities to help designers and engineers bring better products more quickly to market. The software includes more than 200 customer-requested enhancements and significant innovations that break new ground in engineering efficiency. These innovations include fundamentally new approaches that allow design engineers to analyze and validate designs as they work. Design engineers will also more easily transition from 2D design and experience the speed and accuracy of 3D.

Designers and engineers will use SprutCAM and SolidWorks software to bring the processes of design and manufacture together by combining the power of SolidWorks with the simplicity of use of SprutCAM.

A SolidWorks SOLUTION PARTNER Product, SprutCAM allows users to add a shortcut directly into the SolidWorks environment. When the add-in is selected, the current SolidWorks part will be opened directly in SprutCAM, allowing the user to immediately update existing toolpaths for the part, or easily select an entire set of machining operations from another similar part and apply them directly to the new design model. SolidWorks 2006 expands on the software's legacy of ease of use, design power, and affordability by also providing users with comprehensive drawing tools and new productivity features that will speed the adoption of 3D design around the world. By using SolidWorks 2006 and SprutCAM, users can close the gap between the design and manufacture processes by streamlining them into one. This can produce significant cost reductions and shortening of 'lead times'.
